Operators ask this every week. Fair question.
Phantom Office Live is locked on Grok Bot. Here is the plain difference, without turning this into a fan war.
I teach one stack in the room so everyone leaves with a working office, not a debate club. That stack is Grok Bot because it is the easiest to start and the most mobile-friendly option for a live room. Claude is a strong product. It is a different room.
Grok Bot (xAI) is built around named bots that work on a persistent cloud computer. Tasks can keep going when your laptop is closed. You can run a roster that shares that computer environment. Setup often looks like showing a workflow once and saving a routine.
Claude (Anthropic) offers agent-style work through products such as Claude Cowork and Claude computer-use capabilities. The center of gravity is desktop / Claude workflow work: files, folders, and tasks alongside how you already use Claude. Governance controls (what it can read, write, or delete) are a big part of the story.
Both are agents in the product sense. They are not the same room.
For Phantom Office, the overnight and between-jobs coverage pattern is the point. Solo operators in events and hospitality leave the building. Home services operators leave the truck for the next job. Local agencies leave the desk. Coverage that depends on your laptop staying open is a different product story than coverage that can keep working on a cloud computer.
Grok Bot documentation and practitioner writeups emphasize that bots on an account can share one cloud computer, including files and sessions placed there. That helps a coordinated office roster. It also means you should be deliberate about which logins you place on that machine.
Claude Cowork emphasizes folder permissions and tighter brakes on what the agent may change on your desktop. That governance story matters for deep local file work. Phantom Office still puts a human approval gate on anything that goes out under your name either way. Drafts move. Sends wait.
Not because Claude is bad. Because for this workshop the lock is:
You bring a Grok Bot account, or set one up live. That is non-negotiable for the session.
What you build: six AI staff roles on your accounts. Titles only in public: Chief of Staff, Admin, Content, Sales, Visibility, Books. You name them in class. Each role gets a written brief, a live channel, a first real task, and an approval gate before you leave.
On the rest of the Phantom Office site I say staff and roles, not agents, on purpose. This post uses agents because you asked for the product comparison. The workshop still sells coverage for a human business, not a hobby stack.
Cost after Live stays plain. Workshop is $597 flat with 12 seats. Tool subscriptions run about $100 to $200 a month to providers, not to me. Optional Community is $97 a month. Weekly one-hour group call. Bring questions ready. Complimentary invite is first 12 free with overflow waitlist if you want the free track first.
Who it is for: solo operators and 1-3 person teams stretched thin nights and weekends. You do not need to be technical. You need a laptop, your logins, and willingness to approve drafts like a manager.
